A simple, honest pension house in Jämtland
Pensionat Björnen sits on Storgatan in central Östersund, a short walk from the lake, the pedestrian street and the trains that carry you north to Åre and Storlien. It is a small pension house made for travellers who want a comfortable bed, a generous breakfast and doors that open onto the city.
The rooms are unfussy and warm - wooden floors, thick curtains, a writing desk by the window. Some have a private bathroom, others share; some have a kitchen, others open onto a shared kitchen where guests cook together. Whatever room you choose, the idea is the same: rest well, then step outside.

How the stay works
Check-in runs from 15:00 to midnight and check-out is by 11:00. The reception is not always staffed, so after booking the property sends you check-in and payment details by email. Bed linen and towels can be rented on site for 50 SEK, or bring your own. Cash is not accepted; cards only.
